I’m Heather Palmer. The lady behind the camera & owner of Capture & Design. 

In a nutshell I am the cheeky lady who lives in hoodies, bare feet, drinks way too much coffee & has a HUGE crush on Harrison Ford. Always has my camera in hand. I tend to move lots, it’s called exercise and I like to talk about anything with others. I may have the energy of a dozen toddlers, talk way too much, like the color green & brussels sprouts are growing on me. I am married over 20 years with 2 kids & a dog.  A little brag about my kiddos, my son is studying paleontology and holds 2 black belts in both Karate 7 Kobudo. My daughter is in high school, is a national champion in Karate & has competed internationally as a member of Team Canada.  

My first camera was a film point & shoot, needless to say all my money went into developing film and not the usual teenage girl things. I am your extraverted extraverts outgoing friend. Something I LOVE to do is people watch. Hit up the mall, a park & observe. And no better place to that then behind a camera. Capturing real, raw emotion & moments with those around me. 

In 2007 I decided to make my passion a business and here we are today. My very first client was a belly dancing studio. She was making up flyers, as websites were not a thing yet, and she needed images to print.  

My niche is lifestyle, I want your images to look like real life without the clutter. The best lighting is always natural which means my studio is mother earth. BUT sometimes we will go inside & have some fun. Lifestyle will always lure me in, but I am expanding into Sports, Social Media Hype Posters, themed sessions & the odd pet. Just no weddings. I don’t have the patience for that.
